Arlie P is just a creative guy having fun. Arlie P creates music and art, fuses them, and shares it with the public at the end of the process. He produce music that is a mixture of Hip Hop, Lo-Fi, Jazz, RNB and soul, and always make sure that artwork speaks to the idea behind the song.
How long have you been creating music?
Been making music for about 5 years
Do you have a preferred genre?
No, I sometimes listen to other genres for inspiration and alternative rhythms.
Tell us about your latest song, EP, or album.
This song is from my ColouR album, the whole idea behind the album was to pick specific colours that have had an impact on me in my life time, and have them all translated into sound. Sky Blue has to be my favaourite song in the album, I was imagining the Sky when creating it, and how ubiquitous the ColouR blue is when we look up. The song has heavy Jazz influences, a little bit of noise for that Lo-Fi feel, and drums that knock.
Are there any challenging aspects to writing and/or recording your music?
Creating the same sound, I always try offer variety, and experimenting.
Has your style evolved since the beginning of you career?
Yes, my sound has changed from my first album in 2018, but that was the seed.
What do you enjoy most about being a musician?
The creative process, bringing things from our minds into physical form for public consumption. Manipulating sound waves and pixels with machines.
Playing live or recording in studio? Do you have a preference?
I mostly do studio sessions, but would not mind learning how to live perform. (But I can do live beat creation)
Do you have a preference… vinyl records, cassettes, CDs, or downloads?
I wouldn’t mind any of these.
Tell about a magical moment or positive experience that has happened through music.
The moment I realized that I just had to share the music, I used to just keep stashes of instrumentals on hard drives.
Are there any musicians who inspire you? What qualities do you admire about them?
L. Dre, CoryAyo, Lo – Fi Waiter, Kendrick Lamar; I admire how the first 3 incorporate art and music, and how Kendrick makes uses word play to convey mental images.
Would you like to travel to other countries to perform your music? If so, what would be your first stop?
Yes, Sydney in Australia.
Are you currently working on any projects we should look out for?
New album releasing April 14th, single April 20
